October 28: Winslow Homer: Society and Solitude. Released in 2007, this is the first major documentary study of Homer’s life and work. Part 1 (55 min.)

November 4: Homer, Part 2 (55 min.)

November 11: Frederic Remington: The Truth of Other Days (1 hr.)

November 18: Ansel Adams: Photographer (1 hr.)

November 25: The Landscapes of Frederic Church (29 min.) +
George Bellows. The National Gallery of Art produced this documentary on an important modernist associated with the Ashcan group. (30 min.) Bellows, Robert Henri (next week), and John Sloan are all represented in the Butler’s permanent collection.

December 2: Robert Henri and The Art Spirit. (29 min.) + an interview with Helen Sloan, John Sloan’s wife. (29 min.)

December 9: Art of the Western World, Part 1: “The Classical Ideal” (57 min.)
