- **Event Description**: Join MV Community Care and the MV Freedom Fighters Thursday December 18th at 6:30pm for a free, inclusive, and comprehensive introduction to how to protect your digital footprint from a local digital security expert! 

Whether you're attending a rally, traveling for work, or just running errands in your neighborhood, it's crucial to stay safe in your digital footprint.  In this 1.5-hour digital safety and security training, you'll learn strategies to protect your devices, data, and communications, no matter where you are. From securing your phone during transit to managing your privacy when interacting with authorities, this session will cover real-world tips and tools to help you stay secure.  

We’ll learn personal threat modeling, a proactive approach that helps individuals identify potential risks and develop strategies
 to protect themselves. 

We’ll dive into high-tech threats, discuss how to plan for safety in the digital age, and role-play scenarios like border crossings and encounters with law enforcement. Perfect for activists, organizers, and anyone in a vulnerable or targeted community, this class ensures you have the skills to safeguard your digital life while on the go.


A free vegan meal will be provided. Gas cards available to those in need.

WHAT IS COMMUNITY CARE?

We know that our ability to survive and thrive is based on radical acts of interdependence. Through monthly workshops and talks, we will build skills and knowledges that will make our communities safer and stronger. We seek to share these things in an inclusive, safe, non-judgemental, voluntary space where all are free to learn and share together.
