Creativity, Conversation, and Community Return to the Phelps St. Gateway and Historic West Federal
District!
Youngstown, OH - The City of Youngstown’s Office of Special Events is thrilled to announce the launch of
a new weekly public gathering that celebrates creativity, connection, and community in the heart of
Downtown.
Beginning Thursday, July 31, 2025, and continuing every Thursday evening from 5 PM to 8 PM,
residents and visitors alike are invited to bring their own art and craft supplies and join fellow makers in
the Phelps Street Gateway for an open-air evening of creativity. Whether you crochet, paint, draw,
embroider, or work in any other medium, all levels of experience are welcome.
This is not a class—just a place to gather, create, and connect. Round tables and chairs will be provided,
and attendees are encouraged to bring whatever materials they need. It’s a low-pressure, high-vibe way
to meet fellow creatives and make something beautiful, all while enjoying the revitalized energy of
Phelps Street.
“This event is a celebration of grassroots creativity and Downtown Youngstown’s artistic spirit,” said the
Office of Special Events. “We’re excited to see the Phelps Gateway activated with art, laughter, and
community again.”
Free parking is available on Commerce Street, directly behind 20 Federal and just steps away from the
event space. Look for the lot to the right of Yonder, Downtown’s new brunch-and-vibes destination.
This weekly event will continue through the fall—weather permitting.
Be part of the comeback. - Creativity. Conversation. Community.
Every Thursday, 5–8 PM, at the Phelps St. Gateway. See you there!
