Backpacking doesn't have to stop when the snow falls and there is no place more magical place than Yosemite under a blanket of snow! We are going to snowshoe with backpacks through the Yosemite backcountry, get views of Yosemite Valley from far above, and spend a night camping in the snow. It’s going to be fun! We'll snowshoe to Dewey Point for the iconic views of Yosemite Valley in winter, and continue a short distance to Crocker Point, with its own amazing views of the Valley and Yosemite high country, blanketed by winter snow.

The trip will start and finish at the Badger Pass ski area, on Glacier Point Rd in Yosemite.  

This is a great trip for people who have backpacked but never camped in the snow. The terrain we’re traveling on is gently rolling, making it ideal for snowshoes as well as cross-country skis. First-time snow campers are welcome on this trip as the distances covered to get to our camp are less than 4 miles. You'll have the option of sleeping in a snow cave or in a tent, too!
