- **Event Description**: Art lovers, this one’s for you! Spend a spring Sunday strolling along the Yorktown waterfront surrounded by creativity at every turn. The 13th annual Art at the River showcases nearly 30 local artists—from painters and potters to photographers and jewelers. Creators are traveling to Yorktown from the Greater Tidewater area and the Outer Banks to participate in this popular community event. Juried Art Show prizes valued at more than $4,000 will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, and Honorable Mention in 2D, 3D, jewelry, and photography. Attendees can also vote for their favorite to receive the People’s Choice Award, earning the recipient a $1,000 prize.  

Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day from Coastal Thirst and Boyd’s Tasty Dogs and all Historic Yorktown restaurants will be open. The Hampton Roads Winery is offering wine tastings with the option to buy a bottle to take home. This event will also include a Student Art Show in the Yorktown Freight Shed, featuring high school artists from York County Public Schools.

Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building, and other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, ADA-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily with several stops throughout town. The event will be held rain or shine.

This event is presented by the Art at the River Committee in conjunction with York County and the Yorktown Foundation, with support from the Celebrate Yorktown Committee, the Economic Development Authority, and the York County and Williamsburg Area Arts Commissions.
