Yorkshire's Celtic bard Olivia Graham invites you to join her for a peaceful hour of ancient hymns, chants and traditional tunes drawn from the Celtic corners of these Isles. Experience Advent and Christmas through the eyes of of pioneering Irish monks, Anglo-Saxon bards, exiled kings and Northumbrian saints. Step out of time as the ancient languages of Britain and Ireland are heard over powerful drones and traditional instruments.Important information:The performance is approx. 1 hour long. There is no interval.Doors open 30 mins prior to start of performance.Venue:Holy Trinity Church is over 800 years old. Please be aware the building has uneven flooring and care must be taken when moving about .The building is wheelchair accessible with the exception of the sunken chapel. Please contact the church in advance regarding any access requirements you may have.The building has no central heating, and it is therefore advised to dress as warmly as possible. Blankets are available upon request (subject to availability). You are welcome to bring your own blankets and cushions.Please note that there are no toilet facilities at the church. Visitors are advised to use the facilities at the Old White Swan next door.There is no allocated seating. Holy Trinity Church boasts one of the finest surviving examples of historic box pews in the country; seating will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis and you may be asked to share a box with other audience members.Sightlines vary around the building, but the accoustics are excellent throughout!The main entrance is on Goodramgate (opposite Tesco), with an alternative enterance on Low Petergate via Hornpot Lane.Dislcaimer: Latecomers may not be admitted once the show has started.
