Mount Agamenticus to the York River is a critical Maine natural area and home to a great diversity of plants and animals. To learn what makes this landscape so special, the public is invited on a free guided uphill hike from Highland Farm Preserve to the summit of Mt. Agamenticus. York Land Trust has partnered with the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program, York Water District, and Kittery Water District to offer this outing!

There is no minimum age requirement for this excursion, but prior hiking experience is highly recommended. This moderately difficult trek will be approximately five miles and cover a variety of terrain, but will be mostly uphill. Hikers should bring at least two liters of water, snacks, and lunch. Dress in layers and for protection from weather and insects. Hiking poles are recommended but not required. No dogs, please. We will meet at 9:00am at the parking lot at the summit of Mt. A, where free parking vouchers will be provided. We will then shuttle to Highland Farm Preserve and begin our hike from there. We expect to reach our cars at or before 2:00pm.

Donations to the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Program are welcome!  Proceeds go toward stewardship and outreach projects that improve visitor experiences and safety, protect water quality, and preserves wildlife habitat in the Mount Agamenticus region.
