- **Event Description**: Uprise Judo is proud to host a special Katame Waza / Ground Fighting Seminar ahead of and in preparation for the Cornhusker State Games.

This seminar will be instructed by 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt and SIMS – Nebraska City instructor T.Y. Mills, focusing on practical grappling concepts applicable to both Judo and Jiu Jitsu competition.

Participants will work on:
- Positional control
- Pins and hold-downs (osaekomi)
- Transitional groundwork
- Submission concepts
- Escapes and reversals
- Live resistance training
- Competition-oriented ne-waza strategy

This seminar is open to grapplers of all ages and experience levels, including:
- White belts
- Black belts
- Judoka
- Wrestlers
- Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners
- Gi and no-gi athletes

Cost: Free-will donation
*To attend this type of seminar one can generally expect to fork out a chunk of change; but Coach T.Y. is graciously offering this training on a free-will donation basis so that anyone who wishes might be able to attend, learn and grow.

Uprise Judo students attending for club credit should plan to wear their judogi for the majority of training. 
Training will follow standard Uprise Judo mat etiquette and training expectations.

All attendees who have not already signed an insurance waiver with Uprise Judo will be asked to sign a waiver or, if under the age of 19, have a guardian sign the waiver for them, prior to the beginning of the training seminar.
