- **Event Description**: The York County Historical Association is pleased to welcome and host local author Kerry Hoffschneider for a special "Hope Stories for the Heartland" book club and discussion November 14, 2026 at 3:30 p.m.

Kerry's book is a collection of stories featuring rural people from all walks of life, along with reflections on change in our rural communities. The upcoming discussion will explore these stories and the ways storytelling can inspire positive change in agriculture and rural community building.

Participants will purchase a copy of "Hope Stories for the Heartland" for $20. All proceeds from book sales will benefit Difference Makers - “Difference in Action,” a youth-led York Public Schools initiative (expanding statewide) focused on food security, agricultural education, and community engagement. Kerry will provide books to participants prior to the discussion.

This event will be the second part of a "double header" day at YCHA. Prior to the book club meeting, the Association is also pleased to host Karen Wyatt Drevo's presentation "Maria Rodaway: Prairie Pioneer" at 2 p.m. Check our Events page for additional information.
