- **Event Description**: Hosted by Friends of Lebanon Cemetery as part of a weekend of events celebrating Juneteenth in York, join us for a FREE screening on June 20 at 6pm in our historic Capitol Theatre of this new documentary by filmmaker Bryan Wade. The film explores the movement that flourished right here in South Central Pennsylvania, featuring the contributions of Quakers, Black and white conductors, and other activists who risked everything to stand up for freedom.

Immediately following the screening, York historian Samantha Dorm will lead a roundtable discussion with Bryan Wade and other local historians.

? More About the Filmmaker

Bryan Wade is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a former York educator, government official and television talk show host with 20 years of radio, television and documentary production experience. Wade served in both the United States Navy and the Army National Guard. As a Minister, award-winning television producer on race and racism, radio broadcaster, K-8 educator, two-branch military veteran, and award-winning documentary producer, Wade has had an eclectic and expansive professional career.
