Join us in the Studio for a phenomenal workshop with local artist Kitty Savel, and create your very own slow stitched fabric collage! We are thrilled with this opportunity to learn from Kitty, an award-winning collage, textile, and multimedia artist who has exhibited her work throughout Pittsburgh and in online exhibitions. Slow stitching is the process of adding decoration to fabric through the use of embellishments and simple hand stitches. It is one of the most approachable, playful, low-pressure forms of textile art – the process is relaxing and the result is unique and beautiful! Come to this workshop if you’d like to play and experiment with fabric collage in a welcoming, low-pressure, supportive environment. Kitty will teach several basic stitches and embellishment techniques, and you will leave with your own piece of art! Kitty, a talented upcycler, will provide an array of beautiful second hand fabrics for your creations. All supplies will be provided - just bring yourself and your creativity! Ages 12+ welcome, with an adult. No previous experience is required.
