Heritage Hiking Club Liability Release All participants must have a current Heritage Hiking Club Liability Release on file before participating in any day hike or overnight adventure. Group Pace, Volunteer Leaders & Personal Responsibility Heritage Hiking Club adventures are made possible through the generosity of our volunteer leaders and support team, who freely donate their time to help organize and facilitate these experiences for everyone to enjoy. Our volunteer leaders are not acting as professional guides, medical providers, rescuers, or personal supervisors for individual participants. They are present to facilitate the group experience and promote a safe, enjoyable, and organized outing for all. Participants are expected to hike at a pace appropriate for the advertised difficulty level and remain with the group unless otherwise directed by a hike leader. Every participant is solely responsible for their own decisions, physical condition, fitness level, pace, hydration, nutrition, medications, equipment, and overall personal well-being before, during, and after the activity. As a condition of participation, every participant is required to have a current Heritage Hiking Club Liability Release on file. That signed release includes Heritage Hiking Club, Bill & Tina Furey, HHC's volunteer leaders, support team members, and other released parties.
