Yonkers Waterfront Walking Tour

Join us as we explore Yonkers' historic downtown area, including the daylighted Saw Mill River, Yonkers Train Station, Yonkers Recreation Pier, the Enslaved African Rain Garden, and more. We'll cover Yonkers' history from its early Indigenous origins to the present, with emphasis on the 18th and 19th centuries. If you've ever wondered how and why Yonkers developed, and what the downtown used to look like, this is the tour for you!
Before you Arrive:
This walking tour takes a circular route of approximately 1 mile and is mostly flat .The tour departs from and returns to Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site (located at 29 Warburton Ave., Yonkers, NY). Tour lasts approximately 90 minutes. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen or a hat. Tour departs promptly at 1:00 p.m., so if traveling by car we recommend you arrive early to make sure you have time to find parking as our lot fills up quickly. The museum opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m. Philipse Manor Hall is accessible via Hudson line train, car, or bus. Registration:
Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, pay at the door. Tickets include museum admission. Pre-registration is recommended, but not required. To register, call 914-965-4027 or email
