Tomorrow morning, Deputy Mayor Sue Gerry, Fire Commissioner William Fitzpatrick, members of the Yonkers Fire Department, elected officials and Fire Chaplain Father William Cleary will gather at Fire Station 1 for the traditional blessing of six new pieces of fire and emergency apparatus.

The new equipment includes two fire engines, one rescue pumper and three UTVs, all designed to strengthen YFD’s ability to respond to fires, medical emergencies, technical rescues, large-scale events and other incidents throughout the City of Yonkers.

Following remarks from Deputy Mayor Gerry and Commissioner Fitzpatrick, Father Cleary will offer a blessing over the new apparatus and the firefighters who will operate them in service to our community.
