- **Event Description**: On Saturday, June 20, start the day with us from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in Yonkers at Habirshaw Park for the Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration at the Yonkers Riverfront Summer Kickoff Festival. 

It’s free, family-friendly, and delightfully fishy!

Together, we’ll mark the return of our Hudson River fish home from the ocean with our river-faring flotilla of fish-themed boats. 

Led by a massive Atlantic sturgeon designed by renowned artist Greg Corbino, the vessels will travel the route of the seasonal migration, north from the Atlantic Ocean into the Hudson.

The Riverkeeper Fish Migration Celebration will honor and celebrate these fishes epic journeys with live music, a puppet performance by artist Rhiannon Catalyst with puppets from Big Nazo, a spoken dedication from a member of the Ramapo Munsee Nation, a public-participatory Parade of the Fish, a spectacular water spouting display from retired FDNY fireboat John J. Harvey, and a call to action from Riverkeeper President Tracy Brown.

We’ll cheer the flotilla on as it starts its journey upriver led by the larger-than-life sturgeon-themed Schooner Apollonia, designed by renowned artist Greg Corbino — spreading joy, raising awareness, and turning the waterway into a floating work of art.

After the flotilla departs, the celebration continues at the Yonkers Riverfront Summer Kickoff Festival with free kayaking, seining, arts and crafts, free food and music, raffle prizes, tabling from local community groups, and more!
