Fall into Jazz... with the LIBRARY JAZZ BAND
Yonkers' Own Jazz Orchestra!
If you've enjoyed our Sunday Soul Sessions, get ready for something special when the entire Library Jazz Band comes back to Yonkers Arts on Sunday, November 16 at 1pm.
The Library Jazz Band is quickly becoming a Yonkers institution, bringing the sounds of big band jazz to a wide audience. From Count Basie to original arrangements of Stevie Wonder and the Rolling Stones, this band brings a fresh take on what a big band can do.
Fall into Jazz with the Library Jazz Band features some big band barnstormers loved by generations, including Groove Merchant (Thad Jones), Moten Swing (Bennie Moten/Count Basie), and No More Blues (Jobim/Mike Longo), as well as brand new takes on Wichita Lineman (Glen Campbell/Matt Garrison), Nica's Dream (Horace Silver/Rob Susman) and more.

About the Library Jazz Band
LJB was created in 2021 to address a gap in the musical landscape by reviving the big band tradition in their community. Formally organized in 2025 as a not for profit organization, LJB's dynamic 16-piece jazz orchestra features five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, piano, bass and drums. Our collective of seasoned professionals and passionate, experienced amateurs is united by a shared love for the big band format and our commitment to bringing vibrant, live jazz music to the community.
