Watching Single Molecules in Action
Single-molecule methods have become widely used tools for probing the structure, dynamics, and mechanisms of biomolecular systems. The seminar will introduce the general concepts of single-molecule methodology and, in particular, will outline the principles of single-molecule fluorescence microscopy and its use in characterization of biomolecules at a nanoscale. Finally, the interesting findings of a recent research will be presented where single-molecule fluorescence microscopy.
The speaker of the seminar is Dr. Mikayel Aznauryan, PhD who has continued his professional training at University of Zurich (Switzerland) and Aarhus University (Denmark) after getting a PhD degree from Yerevan State University. He is is a researcher working within a field of experimental molecular biophysics, particularly focusing on investigation of proteins and DNA.
