Justine Giles
On her new single “Past Life,” Justine Giles continues to explore personal growth and healing through her songwriting. The track poured out of her following an unexpected encounter with an acquaintance with whom she’d had a complicated history, prompting Giles to reflect on how we often remain connected to such people, whether we want to or not.
“Past Life” is Giles’ first new music since her 2024 EP "Another Chance", which collected the singles she’d recorded after moving from Toronto to Calgary in 2019 where she was immediately embraced, and in 2024 was named Calgary’s Solo Artist of the Year as part of the YYC Music Awards. "Another Chance" also received strong local radio support from CJSW, which helped it reach the Earshot National Folk and Roots Top 10.
small TALK
Bruce De La Cruz, better known as small TALK, is an up and coming live performer semi-new to Yellowknife.
His big heart translates into the big energy he puts into his performances, which has become a staple that small TALK fans have come to expect.
small TALK writes what's on his mind first, and worries about the details later, making every song as raw as possible.
He also makes sure to stay down to earth as a performer, and enjoys banter (AKA "small talk" hehe) with his friends and fans while he's onstage .
As a musician he wants to share his music, comfort people with his lyrics,and have his songs stuck in people's heads for years to come.
