Presented In Collaboration With Longshadow
A six‑person ensemble featuring some of Canada’s leading jazz musicians
Guitarist-composer Brett Hansen—praised for having “one of the purest sounds on the six‑string” (The Listening Sessions)—steps forward with his acclaimed debut album Confluence. Known for his technical precision, cinematic sound, and strong melodic storytelling, Hansen draws on influences from folk, rock, jazz, and orchestral music. Since its 2024 release, Confluence has remained on international jazz charts and earned comparisons to Pat Metheny and John Abercrombie. A sought‑after session player, Hansen has performed worldwide, recorded extensively, and studied with leading guitarists including Mike Stern, Julian Lage, and Oz Noy.
Confluence comes to life on stage with a dynamic ensemble featuring Mallory Chipman (vocals), Luis Tovar (percussion), Murray Wood (bass), Joel Jeschke (drums), and Chris Pruden (keyboards).
"The live show blends folk sensitivity, rock-driven power, and Latin rhythms into a sound that is both atmospheric and bold—highlighting Hansen’s expressive, genre‑spanning compositional voice and his standing as a guitarist “deserving of your attention” (The Intelligencer).
