Join us once again as we celebrate the music of the original A Charlie Brown Christmas television special which premiered exactly 60 years ago this year!
We are celebrating an anniversary of our own as well as this is the 5th time we are returning to this incredible music and it is also the first time we are returning to the same location that we started in! We first did this show in 2017 as a jazz trio (just piano, bass and drums) in what was then called “The Cellar”. This show has had as many different versions over the years as that venue has had names but for the past year as “The Underground’, they’ve really made a point to support live music and we’re excited to bring this show back down those familiar steps.
You have two nights to catch all of the hits from this timeless soundtrack as well as other Christmas jazz favourites and you’ll have a few chances to sing-along too!
Featuring Mike Auty on saxophone, Andrew Jossa on piano, Sean Robson on bass, Norman Glowach on drums, and special guest Grace Clark!
Saturday, Dec 20th and Sunday, Dec 21st at The Underground
Doors: 6pm, Show: 7–9pm
Tickets: $30 cash, available December 8th at 5pm at The Underground!
If you’re looking for the all ages version, check out the Yellowknife Choral Society’s Christmas Concert the previous weekend where some of us will be joining the Fireweed Children’s Chorus as they sing and dance selections from this soundtrack.
