The Liberty Theatre is delighted to be bringing this classic back to the big screen as part of the 2026 Canberra and Region Heritage Festival: Mid-century Innovation, Change and Optimism.

Holly Golightly is an eccentric New York City playgirl determined to marry a Brazilian millionaire. But when young writer Paul Varjak moves into her apartment building, her past threatens to get in their way.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s is significant for its iconic portrayal of urban modernity and romantic longing, crystallised through Audrey Hepburn’s performance as Holly Golightly. The film shaped popular culture through its fashion, music, and enduring image of female independence, while also reflecting the social tensions of early 1960s America.
