Keep them safe and happy with your hand crafted ceramic water bowl. Clay is a natural, non toxic and lovely material to work with allowing both functional and sculptural elements to be explored. We will have a range of moulds to work from. All work will be glazed and fired in a kiln.🕑: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMTuesday 29th September: Cold Blooded Creatures - Ceramics Info: Australia is home to about 14% of the world’s reptilian population and has some of the largest known snake and lizard fossils in the world! All reptiles are cold-blooded, have scales and reproduce either by laying eggs or giving birth to live young. Some reptiles are aquatic animals, although most live on land. In this workshop we will be stepping into the world of cold blooded creatures and creating them in clay! All work will be glazed and fired in a kiln.🕑: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMWednesday 30th September: Bioluminescent Painting - painting & drawing Info: Bioluminescence is the production of light from a living organism through a chemical reaction. It can be found in mushrooms, algae, plants and even animals! In this workshop we will be creating an eye catching and luminescent painting, capturing some of nature's mysterious glowing animals & plants. From glowing mushrooms in the forest to bioluminescent fish deep in the ocean, learn painting and drawing techniques to capture their magic and the light they emanate on paper.🕑: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMThursday 1st October: Castles - ceramics Info: Design and construct your very own keep, a fortified stronghold on the borderland, a place to seek refuge from what lies beyond the walls. Do the walls curve round, or corners jut out on your towering structure, is the keep a stronghold in its own right or does it form part of a larger complex? These and many other questions can be answered on the day with a little reflection on the purpose and use of one’s keep. This ceramic workshop will encourage participants to perfect clay skills of forming and joining clay as the walls are built brick by brick or module by module. All work will be painted with ceramic colourants and fired in a kiln.🕑: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMFriday 2nd October: Rock Pool - ceramics Info: Rockpools are a window into the wonders of the ocean. Each little pool can contain an incredible diversity of plant and animal life. From the elusive and dangerous blue ringed octopus, to squirtie polyps and tiny fish. Rockpools are an underwater garden, full of life and colour! Use moulds and textural tools to build up a little eco system of your own! Gnome, Goblin, Tomte or Leprechaun are all related and can bring good luck to the home. Turn away from mass produced plastic garden gnomes and make your own good luck charm! Learn a range of hand building skills to construct your very own gnome out of clay. Glaze it in your preferred colour scheme and then it will be fired in the kiln for a permanent finish.🕑: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PMWednesday 7th October: Goblins & Fairies - painting & drawing Info: Using pencil, paper and paint we are leaving this reality to journey to the realm of the fae!
