With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, Yarmouth audiences can get a head start on the Irish green — and the toe-tapping — when Musique Royale brings flautist Chris Norman and fiddler David Greenberg.  The two will unite traditional Celtic fire with the elegance of Baroque in a concert that promises dazzling musicianship, infectious rhythm, and more than a hint of Celtic sparkle.  Together, Norman and Greenberg create a sound that is at once scholarly and spontaneous, music rooted in 18th-century Scotland and Ireland, yet alive with Nova Scotia’s own traditional pulse. Their long-standing collaboration has become beloved across the province for its warmth, humour, and breathtaking virtuosity. So polish your dancing shoes, wear a splash of green if you’re inclined, and prepare for an evening where Celtic spirit meets Maritime soul.

Born in Halifax, Norman is a world-renowned wooden flute virtuoso, composer, teacher, flute-maker, and founder of the internationally celebrated Boxwood Festival in Lunenburg. His career spans solo stages, orchestral collaborations, and film soundtracks, including Titanic, and reflects a lifelong devotion to Maritime, Celtic, and French Canadian traditions.

Greenberg, equally legendary in both early music and traditional circles, has built a remarkable dual career as a Baroque violinist and Cape Breton fiddler. A longtime performer with ensembles such as Tafelmusik and co-founder of Puirt a Baroque.   Greenberg has recorded more than 80 albums and co-authored the influential DunGreen Collection. His arrangements have been embraced by Cape Breton icons including Buddy MacMaster and The Rankins.
