Becoming Rooted is a year-long invitation to slow down, pay attention, and live in rhythm with the turning of the seasons—it’s a way to find our footing, both alone and together, in a world that feels isolating, anxiety-provoking, and off-kilter.
The registration portal for this Jan-Dec gathering circle opens each Winter Solstice. For those who say yes to the adventure, each month, we explore a set of seasonal themes that invite deeper connection — to the natural world, to our inner landscape, to one another, and to the quiet wisdom of ordinary days.
Through reflection, journaling, and simple embodied practices, we learn to tend what’s meaningful, let go of what no longer serves, and root ourselves in a steadier way of being.
There are two components to this experience: weekly letters delivered via substack, and a monthly circle to meet. Letters, which all participants receive, contain stories, reflections, practices, and meditation/journal prompts. There is an in-person cohort that meets on the fourth Sunday of each month from 4 to 6 PM at the Chaplaincy Institute of Maine (our gracious space host!). You also have the option to join an online cohort that meets via Zoom the fourth Friday of the month from 5 to 7 PM.
