- **Event Description**: Millions of people across the country find joy at their local libraries every week, which is why this year’s National Library Week theme is “Find Your Joy.” We invite the community to join us in a weeklong celebration (April 19-25) highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. Whether you’re a lifelong reader, a curious learner, or simply looking for a welcoming place to gather, Yankton Community Library offers something for everyone. 

National Library Week will kick off with an open house and film showing on Sunday, April 19 from 4 pm-6 pm. The Friends of YCL, the YCL Foundation, and the YCL Board of Trustees will be available to share and discuss their role in supporting the library. Tour the building and learn more about your library while enjoying some refreshments! At 6 pm, a special screening of The Librarians (88 minutes) presented by Indie Lens Pop-Up. This film follows librarians and citizens responding to restrictions on library content across the U.S.
