This coming Sunday is Pentecost, the fiftieth day of Easter.

Pentecost derives its name from the Jewish festival celebrating the harvest and the giving of the law on Mount Sinai fifty days after Passover. 

On this day:

We will keep the resurrection of Christ by celebrating the Spirit of the Risen Christ in our midst.

We will stand to greet Jesus as we hear him speak in the gospel, 

We will invoke the Holy Spirit by reaffirming our baptism into the life and death of Christ.

We will celebrate the presence of the crucified, risen, and ascended Christ in the meal we share together.

We will celebrate that we, too, are given the breath of the Holy Spirit and sent out to proclaim God's redeeming love to all the world.

A luncheon fellowship will follow.

All are welcome to join us offering Jesus' generous hospitality to the whole community.  Thanks be to God.
