gentle walk through the heathland on the northern shore of Currimundi Lake.

Coinciding with Native Pollinator week we will look for native bees, beetles and insects (thanks for the heads up Rae).

About: Established by botanist Kathleen MacArthur, this park protects a small remnant of wallum heath, a plant community that was once common along the Sunshine Coast. Vividly coloured heath wildflowers reach their peak flowering time in late winter and spring months. On the park’s short walks look for colourful honeyeaters and enjoy views of the creek, lake and ocean beach.

Essential: RSVP as going on the event page

Meeting point: carpark at corner of Coongarra Esplanade and Bareki St

Suitable for: all interested in flora, fauna and nature journaling.

Bring: morning tea, water, nature journaling tools such as notebook, colour pencils and watercolours if you wish. 

Enclosed shoes, hat, sunscreen are also recommended.
