- **Event Description**: Das ist wie Weihnachten: Die Women of Wuppertal (WoW) treffen auf die Formation Ufermann. Der internationale Frauenchor der Bergischen Musikschule vereint über 80 Frauen aus 20 Ländern, die in 30 Sprachen ihrer Herkunftskulturen singen. Ob alteingesessen oder gerade angekommen, Akademikerin oder Analphabetin, ob aus den Alpen oder den Anden: WoW steht für Vielfalt und gegenseitige Wertschätzung.

Der Chor erhielt Einladungen zu Konzerten im In- und Ausland, darunter u.a. die Elbphilharmonie, die Philharmonie in Köln, Insbruck sowie das International Choral Meeting in Marrakesch (Marokko). Die Women of Wuppertal verstehen sich als Botschafterinnen unserer einen Welt.

Leitung: Prof. Hayat Chaoui

Auch die Formation Ufermann setzt seit 35 Jahren auf interkulturelle Begegnungen mit Musik und Poesie. Jazz trifft auf jahrhundertealte Traditionen, Lyrik auf Leben, der Orient auf den Okzident. Die Formation kann auf Auftritte im europäischen Ausland und Südamerika, auf Radio- und TV-Produktionen sowie auf internationale Festivals zurück blicken (u.a. Jazzfestival von Montreux).

Die Band arbeitete mit Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus vielen Ländern zusammen und veröffentlichte bisher 12 CDs.
