Inauguracja cyklu w obecności Ewy Partum – jednej z kluczowych postaci polskiej sztuki konceptualnej, laureatki tytułu doctor honoris causa Uniwersytetu Artystycznego im. Magdaleny Abakanowicz w Poznaniu – umożliwia powrót do źródeł, w których ciało kobiety stawało się narzędziem krytycznej refleksji nad językiem, kulturą i społeczną widzialnością. Praktyka Partum – sytuująca się obok dokonań takich artystek jak Carolee Schneemann, Valie Export, Ana Mendieta czy Yoko Ono – przynależy do nurtu, który uznał ciało kobiety nie tylko za medium ekspresji, ale za pole sporu, przepisywania i demontażu dominujących kulturowych dyskursów. Podobnie jak Schneemann w Interior Scroll (1975) obnażała patriarchalne mechanizmy wykluczenia kobiecego głosu, a Mendieta w cyklu Silueta (1973–80) badała relacje między kobiecą obecnością a naturą, Partum analizowała napięcia pomiędzy konstrukcją kobiecej podmiotowości, strukturami władzy i językiem – tym materialnym i tym ukształtowanym przez kulturę. „Nowe spojrzenia” przedstawiają performans jako medium, w którym historia nie jest zamkniętą narracją, lecz żywą strukturą dialogu. Zaproszeni do współdziałania z twórczością EWY PARTUM PRZEMEK BRANAS, JOANNA PAWLIK i MARTA ZIÓŁEK, nie rekonstruują historii, lecz ją aktualizują, tworząc współczesną ramę dla rozumienia performance’u jako medium refleksji nad ciałem, relacją i wspólnotą. Its inauguration in the presence of Ewa Partum – one of the central figures of Polish conceptual art and a recipient of an honorary doctorate from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań – marks a return to the origins of performance, in which the female body became an instrument of critical reflection on language, culture, and social visibility. Partum’s practice – alongside the achievements of artists such as Carolee Schneemann, Valie Export, Ana Mendieta, or Yoko Ono – belongs to a trajectory that recognized the female body not merely as a vehicle of expression, but as a field of contestation, rewriting and dismantling dominant cultural discourses. Just as Schneemann in her Interior Scroll (1975) exposed patriarchal mechanisms that silenced or marginalized the female voice, and Mendieta in the Silhouette series (1973–1980) investigated the relationship between female presence and the natural environment, Partum examined the tensions between the construction of female subjectivity, power structures, and language – both material and culturally inscribed. New Perspectives presents performance as a medium in which history is not a sealed narrative but a living structure of dialogue. Invited to engage with Ewa Partum’s work, Przemek Branas, Joanna Pawlik, and Marta Ziółek do not reconstruct the past; instead, they update it, creating a contemporary framework for understanding performance as a medium of reflection on the body, relations, and forms of community.
