- **Event Description**: Free Permaculture Course Based on the 12 Principles of Permaculture.About this EventYou are invited to a 12-week Introduction to Permaculture Course in Wrecsam where each week is based around one of the 12 permaculture principles, explored through practical application in community growing spaces.Permaculture draws inspiration from natural ecosystems and shares ways we can meet our wellbeing needs on mutiple levels. With aspects of earth care, people care and fair share, permaculture can be applied to how we can grow food and other plants, how we can work together in society in a way that learns from - and works in harmony with - nature. Supporting wellbeing in individuals, communities and the environment, this whole system designs approach that can be used at home, in community projects and workplaces. The growing in this course is based on stock-free organic permaculture in urban based community gardens, where we work with wildlife and other parts of nature to co-create biodiversity, food sources and increased access to natural environments.Participants who complete 3 or more sessions across the 12 weeks can receive an Introduction to Permaculture Certificate certifying the numbers of hours completed.Location and TimesSaturdays:10:00am–11:00am Mount Street Community Garden, Wrexham, LL13 8DW11:15am–12:15am Madeira Hill Community Space, LL13 7DGYou can choose to join individual sessions or take part throughout the 12 weeks. Our sessions aim to be friendly, accessible and inclusive, welcoming people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, identities and experiences.About the facilitator.Steven is a permaculture educator and practitioner committed to bridging ecological design and social justice, from the local to the global. He brings over three decades of Permaculture experience, through projects in Zimbabwe in 1991. and a PDC in 1995 with Mike Feingold, Chris Dixon, and Peter Harper. He has taught over over 40 Permaculture Design Courses,. He works with Sector 39 a permaculture cooperative based in the Cymru Borders. He has worked with Permaculture Association, the Centre for Alternative Technology, RISC, and Cwm Harry, always focused on community gardens, forest gardening, and small-scale enterprise.
