Tree growing at Wild Heart Hill, 15 February | Event in Worthing | AllEvents About the event Tree growing at Wild Heart Hill
Don’t say it with flowers. Say it with trees

Early January this year, ably assisted by a crew of hearty Wellderfolk, we braved the chilly conditions and battled the frosty ground to plant more than 100 trees at Wild Heart Hill.
We also made great progress with our monitoring programme that moves us away from simply planting trees, to actively growing them.
We came away with chilly fingers and toes, as well as a huge sense of accomplishment and a job well done. We also came away with more than 100 trees that still need to be put in the ground. To do this, we need your help!
Being responsible for the life of a tree is a deeply personal and meaningful thing to do. People often tell us that they’ve planted a tree in memory or honour of someone special. Knowing that they’ve done their bit to help nature adds another element to this already powerful act.
Whether it’s for the good of nature or to recognise someone who holds a special place in your heart, a tree can be a wonderful tribute. So, why not join us on the 15th of February and help create a legacy that lasts 1,000 years?
We don’t know what the weather will bring. It’ll probably be chilly, and possibly even rainy. Either way, make sure you wrap up warm and bring hats, gloves, waterproofs and appropriate footwear. A spare pair of socks is always a good idea, too - the ground can be quite damp and a set of soggy toes is no one’s idea of fun!
To keep us from getting too cold in between digging holes, we’ll have a campfire and stuff to make brews. And, of course, the community will be there to make sure many hands make light work of these 100 trees.
Tickets are £2.50 per person to cover the cost of teas, coffees and firewood. As always, if that’s too much, just get in touch. Cost should never be a barrier to creating a lasting legacy.
Limited parking is available, but please share or use public transport where possible. See below for a guide to reaching Wild Heart Hill by public transport. It’s possible, but not necessarily suitable for everyone.
