ANDRES ROOTS
The Estonian slide guitar sorcerer who “sounds like a trio” (Blues-Finland.com) whilst offering “a hardcore reshaping of the blues” (Songlines) and/or “a masterclass in fluid acoustic blues and roots music” (RnR Magazine) is coming to Worthing!

“It’s almost as if muddy waters were flowing into the Gulf of Riga,” writes the American jazz critic Ted Gioia. “Musicians of this sort run counter to all expectations, and upset various purists.”

Over the past 30 years, Roots (his real name!) has played everywhere from Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the German parliament, the Bundestag in Berlin. His music has enjoyed airplay on five continents, topped the charts in the Baltics and earned comparisons with the heyday of Mississippi Delta Blues, Leo Kottke, and Davy Graham.
