- **Event Description**: We are proud to welcome you to Reconciliation Film Club, a shared initiative of  Stanwell Park Public School Otford, Scarborough Public School and Coledale Public School. We plan on bringing you compelling documentaries from Australia’s leading Indigenous filmmakers, and Indigenous news and current affairs. 

Once a term, our film club is an opportunity to bring people together to develop a deeper understanding of Indigenous peoples' perspectives and histories, ignite conversation and spark change. This event is designed for adult audiences within our community. The film addresses complex and sensitive topics relating to literacy, inequality and lived experience. Viewer discretion is advised.
 
In My Own Words
Raw, heartfelt, sometimes painstaking but often funny, In My Own Words follows the journey of adult Aboriginal students and their teachers as they discover the transformative power of reading and writing for the first time in their lives.
 
We invite you to a special screening of the film at Stanwell Park Public School Hall on Wednesday 4th March 2026 at 7pm.
 
We hope you will join us to see this powerful film and talk about equity in education, the transformative power of literacy, and what reconciliation looks like in action within our own communities.
This event is offered as part of our shared commitment to reconciliation.
Entry is by donation, with funds supporting future cultural learning opportunities and reconciliation projects across our school communities.
