Join Izzy from Sherwood Forest Trust for a gentle springtime walk around Sherwood Heath and Cockglode Wood, and discover how to identify trees using leaves, buds, bark and other handy clues.
March is a brilliant time for tree ID, many species are just starting to wake up for the year, and youโll learn how to spot native trees before the full canopy of leaves appears.
You'll learn about why native trees are so important for wildlife, landscapes and people, and how you can start recognising them on your own walks.
The walk will be at a relaxed pace, suitable for all ages and levels of experience, whether youโre a budding tree nerd or just curious about whatโs growing around you.
What to bring:
Sensible footwear (it can be muddy underfoot)
Weather-appropriate clothing
Curiosity and questions!
All ages are welcome. Dogs on leads are welcome too.
