This Artist Showcase is a unique opportunity for AGO members to perform on the iconic Worcester Organ—a majestic, historic instrument housed in the stunning Mechanics Hall.

ABOUT THE WORCESTER ORGAN

• The tallest pipe stands 16 feet tall, made from Eastern Pine
• The largest pipe produces a 32 Hertz pitch—deep enough to feel
• Built in 1864, the custom Hook organ originally cost $8,000 (over $5 million in today’s value)
• Organs were the most complex large machines before the Industrial Revolution—an engineering marvel of their time
• At its debut, this was the largest organ ever built by the Hook firm
