Afternoon Tea at Strawberry Hall: A Cooking Workshop

Using recipes from both the first and second editions of The Nonpareil Cook Book by the Ladies of Worcester and Vicinity (1897), participants will prepare a lavish spread of from-scratch tea-time dainties, both sweet and savory. They will then sit down at the teatable to enjoy the delicacies they have created. Come and experience what locals (and perhaps your relatives) would have eaten and how it was prepared well over a century ago, and discover a true taste of the past.



The workshop is limited to eight participants and is intended for ages 15 and up.



The instructor, historic cook Pamela Cooley, has demonstrated and given workshops at living history museums and has lectured on culinary history topics in upstate New York and beyond. She lives in East Worcester and is retired from the New York State Archives.
