The Museum of Work & Culture, a Rhode Island Historical Society museum, will host its annual Salute to Spring ~ Bonjours Printemps event on Sunday, March 29, at 1:30 p.m. as the culmination of a month-long celebration of French Canadian culture.
The day will include performances at 1:30pm and 3pm by Montreal musicians Seán and Maia Dagher. He is known for his sea shanties and recordings for the Assassin’s Creed video game series, which have garnered some 70 million streams. His daughter Maia is a fiddle player who blends Québécois roots with Appalachian, bluegrass, and Cajun influences to create a rich and easygoing sound.
Additional entertainment will include local author Joseph Bolton, who will present on French-Canadian heritage and how it inspired his collection of folktales, Old Grandmother’s Tree, as well as craft-making for children and adults by the Creative Wonderings Mobile Art Studio. The day will also feature poutine samples from Friskie Fries and pastries from Wright’s Dairy Farm & Bakery
