"description": "Risikat is a Counsellor, Psychodynamic Therapist, and Energy Work Practitioner in private practice. She is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to supporting Black women and marginalised communities to access healing that honours the full context of their lives. Risikat brings an intersectional lens to her practice, recognising how race, culture, gender, spirituality, and experiences of marginalisation shape emotional wellbeing, identity, and relationships.Alongside her psychodynamic training, Risikat integrates energy-based practices into her work to support nervous system regulation, embodiment, and restoration. This integrative approach allows space for both psychological exploration and non-verbal, body-based healing, supporting clients who may feel that talking alone does not fully meet their needs.Risikat has a particular interest in issues related to race, culture, ethnicity, intergenerational trauma, and the impact of systemic oppression on mental health. Her work is trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and grounded in the belief that healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about restoring safety, dignity, and connection within oneself and in relationship to others."
