A resident of Moorestown, NJ, Matthew Skic is Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia. Matthew joined the curatorial staff at the Museum in June 2016 after graduating from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture at the University of Delaware. Since the Museum of the American Revolution’s opening in 2017, he has curated multiple award-winning exhibitions, including Hamilton Was Here: Rising Up in Revolutionary Philadelphia (2018-2019), Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier (2019-2020), and Black Founders: The Forten Family of Philadelphia (2023). Matthew is currently serving as the project director for The Declaration’s Journey (opening October 2025), a groundbreaking special exhibition at the core of the Museum’s initiatives for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
