What?
This week we will meet near the Burnshire Bridge on the Shenandoah River to run up to the Woodstock Tower. Then we'll have a social run back down. We may stop by Woodstock Brewhouse or Springhouse Tavern for food afterward. 

But why?!
Because running uphill builds strength, gets you in shape, and promotes injury resistance! Also, you can meet new people and have fun.

How does it work?
It's simple. Because we're all of different fitness, ability, or levels of energy, we will have some staggered starts. We should all reach the top around the same time if we do this right. Once we’re all back together, we will run back to the bottom as a group.

Can beginners participate?
Absolutely! One must be physically fit enough to hike up a steep road, but if you have that, you're good to go! If you’re concerned about your time or making it all the way to the top, you can always start earlier or turn around partway. Regular attendees do this frequently.

We should have wonderful views from the tower. The road has little to no traffic. The surface is dirt/gravel with good footing. The total run is about 6 miles with ~1,200’ elevation gain. Faster runners will have the opportunity to warm up and get extra miles.
