- **Event Description**: Tryouts will be Open to anyone living, working, or attending school in Monroe, Washington, Noble, Guernsey, Athens, Meigs, Muskingum, Coshocton, Jefferson, Harrison, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Belmont counties in Ohio, and Tyler, Wetzel, Pleasants, Ohio, Wood and Marshall counties in West Virginia. Tryouts are NOT performed in front of and audience, but instead a panel of judges. 25 contestants can be selected by the judges to move on to the live show, which will be held at The Historic Monroe Theatre in Woodsfield, Ohio on November 14th, 2027, at 7pm. There is a $5,000 Winner Takes All Cash Prize, and this is a progressive competition, which will be held on 3 different dates as contestants move on. There is an absolute cap on contestants. There can only be 25. Contestants will Audition in the order they arrive on audition day. To increase your chance of selection, we suggest you arrive sooner than later. once the 25th contestant has been selected, the remaining candidates will not be able to tryout. We strongly suggest getting in line early. Contestants may sing A Capella, with an instrument they play, or a backing track they bring with them and play on their own device such as (phone, mp3 player, CD player etc.) A sound technician or engineer will not be available date of tryouts. Each contestant will be given 2 minutes to tryout. Family, friends, or guests may not enter the area where tryouts will be held but can wait near the exit for the contestant to return following their tryout. Potential contestant will perform only to the selection panel to see if they make the cut to move on to the live show. Individuals who sing or perform in public for paid compensation are NOT ELIGIBLE to enter. Potential acts are not held to being music only and could be a variety of things such as (Vocal, Dance, Acrobats, Comedy, Magic, and so on). Contestants will be required to keep their props to a bare minimum as you only have 2 minutes that will be strictly enforced. Watch for more details to be released as the event grows nearer. Application and contestant information sheets will be filled out at the venue day of tryouts prior to entering and will be assigned a contestant number for the day. If you think you have what it takes to walk away with the $3500 CASH PRIZE, we urge you to tryout. You may be the very first champion of this NEW progressive competition.
