Rhythm of the Elements with Anitra Brooks

Create rhythms and melodies that invoke fire, water, air, earth, and ether through drumming and vocal play. Connect to each other and the nature that surrounds us in this electrifying workshop. Anitra Brooks, a CT-grown musician and teaching artist, will demonstrate basic technique and rhythms on the djembe and other hand percussions to create a drum circle groove. Participants will learn songs from different countries, sing in multiple languages, and engage in vocal improvisation. Build community, nurture joy, and have fun!
