Re:wined vinyl album playback returns to Hopsters Woodbridge, with two classic albums from 1991 that share as many differences as similarities.

Disposable Heroes ‘Hypocrisy Is the Greatest Luxury’ received universal acclaim for its mixture of hip hop, industrial sounds and other influences on its release and, after Bono became a fan, the band were soon touring the world with U2. Main songwriter Michael Franti grew up in post-hippie San Francisco and had been as much influenced by The Clash and Bob Marley as Roy Ayers and Gil Scott Heron - as well as early hip hop and Public Enemy.

Massive Attack’s core crew had grown out of the Wild Bunch, a group of Bristol based youths that had been switched onto hip hop by the film Wild Style. Like early London scenes, Bristol's emerging scene featured toasters, rather than rappers, as MCs over early instrumental B-Sides and electro. And like Franti, the inspiration that informed Massive Attack’s debut LP looked to Jamaica, Bristol and London, as much as The Bronx. Massive Attack's painstakingly assembled debut LP became an instant classic that defined the Bristol sound and paved the way to Trip Hop.

Both LPs will be played as original vinyl pressings, on Technics 1210s and a Bose F1 speaker system - with an introduction by DJ and music writer (and Woodbridge Festival founder) Ben Osborne. Plus Make and Do Sessions by artist First Light Battery of Ideas commissioned artist Alice Stallard.
