Languages for Fun - Russian for Post-Beginners
This 12 week course in Russian is aimed at those with a limited amount of vocabulary, and who can already speak a few simple sentences. It gives you the opportunity to:
Learn Russian in a relaxed and fun environment;
Prepare knowledge of Russian for studying or working abroad, including present and future tenses;
Gain more detailed vocabulary and key phrases before a holiday;
Gain an insight into Russian culture.
Courses are open to everyone (students, staff and members of the public).
Each session lasts two hours on Monday evenings, 5-7pm, and upon completion you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. The first session will be on Monday 30th September, and the final session will be on Monday 16th December.
A variety of teaching methods will be used to keep the lessons fun and interesting. There is no mandatory requirement for you to complete homework outside of class time, however your teacher may set additional exercises and activities that you can do to aid your learning. These tasks will be entirely optional.
The course is taught at a post-beginners level. It would suit people who can already:
Recognise and use familiar words and simple phrases for concrete purposes;
Introduce themselves or someone else;
Ask and answer basic questions about home, family, surroundings etc;
Communicate in a basic way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly, and is ready to repeat or reformulate to help communication.
