It is running in five secondary schools in Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley, applying research from the national Boys Impact movement and building on our prior work in this theme.We are opening up our 'Boys Impact Art' CPD workshops to those outside of the programme so that we can share learning and expertise and grow a network of art educators who are keen to lead change in their classrooms that supports boys and young men to thrive. This learning can also be extended to all children and young people, with the aim of developing a positive and supportive creative eco-system in all schools.Who are they for?The workshops are free and open to primary, secondary, FE and HE teachers of art.What can I expect on the day?1) Update on the Boys Impact national movement and local art projects.2) Photography walking tour led by Tom Hicks AKA Black Country Type.3) Practical art making expanding on the morning’s photography walk.4) Time to share ideas and connect with local art teachers.Who can I contact for more information about the programme?Becky Thompson, R.Thompson6@wlv.ac.uk, Education Producer for Arts Connect.
