Grief is a natural response to all losses in life, but the grief experienced after the death of a loved one can be the deepest and most extreme pain of all. Grief is intensely personal; it may be chaotic and is often unpredictable and can be all consuming. In our parish the bereavement team are Barbara McManus, Claire Richardson and Danny Thomas. They can provide support and friendship to a bereaved person for a time. They offer to either speak over the telephone, video call or meet in person, to listen and accompany someone on their grief journey. They are also supported by the diocesan deanery bereavement team. To provide another layer of support the following activities and events have been organised:

Bereavement Café
Meeting on the 24th of June from 10.30am to 12pm in the St Dunstan's function room. Here we meet as group to share our thoughts and feelings with each other on a variety of topics in a secure, safe and respectful environment. It is a social hub to meet and chat over a cup of coffee/tea.

Bereavement Mass
Once a year a bereavement Mass takes place to honour and remember our loved ones who have passed away.

Funeral planning
The team can provide resources to parishioners who would like to plan their own funeral service.
