Join us for a community benefit to support Mackenzie Marie Callies and her family. Mackenzie was born on February 9th with a serious congenital heart defect and has already undergone her first major open-heart surgery. She will face additional surgeries and lifelong specialized care as she grows.

💗 Mackenzie Marie’s Journey

At our 20-week anatomy scan, what should have been a routine appointment turned into the moment our world shifted. We were told our baby girl’s heart looked larger than normal. After multiple referrals and specialized testing, we learned that Mackenzie was facing a serious congenital heart defect.

Before she was even born, we were preparing for surgeries, long hospital stays, and a lifelong journey with congenital heart disease.

Mackenzie was diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis and Mitral Valve Dysplasia — conditions that affect how blood flows through her tiny heart. There is no cure. Her heart will require multiple open-heart surgeries and lifelong specialized care.

At just weeks old, on February 18, 2026, Mackenzie underwent her first major open-heart surgery — the Norwood-Sano procedure. Watching your newborn be wheeled into surgery is something no parent is ever prepared for. But she fought bravely. Thanks to her incredible medical team, she came through surgery stronger than anyone expected.

This is only the beginning.

Around 8 months old, Mackenzie will face another major open-heart surgery (the Ross-Konno procedure). As she grows, she will need additional valve replacements every 10–15 years. In between surgeries, we’ll closely monitor her oxygen levels, medications, weight gain, and countless follow-up appointments.

While we get to cherish sweet moments at home — watching her smile, grow, and play with her big sister Avery — the reality is that Mackenzie’s journey with congenital heart disease is lifelong.

One in 100 babies is born with congenital heart disease. We never imagined this would be our story, but here we are — leaning on faith, family, and an incredible community.

This fundraiser will help ease the financial burden of:
• Ongoing medical expenses
• Travel and lodging for hospital stays
• Time away from work
• Lifelong specialized cardiac care

Most of all, it allows us to focus on what matters most — loving and supporting Mackenzie every step of the way.
