# Event Details - **Event Name**: Leconfield v Essex get-together inter-club match - Team Selection 2026 - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 18 Jul, 2026 at 09:00 am - **Event Description**: Dear Leconfield Member, In 2019 The Leconfield Working Spaniel club were kindly invited by the Essex Spaniel Get-Together club to participate in their inter-club Match for the very first time. It was the 40th Anniversary of this Match in 2014 so we were hugely honoured to be invited and excitedly accepted the invitation. Covid-19 put paid to the 2020 Match but Leconfield were victorious in 2021, Essex SGT took the title in 2022 and Leconfield were victorious again in 2023 & in 2024 we managed an away win! The Essex team then took a well deserved away win in 2025. Both clubs are looking forward to recommencing our rivalry on Sunday 20th September 2026. Essex Spaniel Get-Together club will host the match this year. We need to select a novice team of 5 spaniels plus reserves and an open team of 5 spaniels plus reserves. Novice dogs should not have won a working test or gained any field trial award. We will be holding a selection day on Saturday 18th of July Nr Petworth, West Sussex. Two Panel judges will put handlers and spaniels through their paces to select the two Leconfield teams. This will also include a water test. If you wish to be considered for selection and can make both the selection date and the match date, please respond ASAP providing me with the following information as detailed below.
