Im Rundgang durch die Ausstellung spricht Hua mit Alessandra Nappo, Sammlungskuratorin des Fotomuseum Winterthur, über ihre künstlerische Praxis, ihren Austausch mit Werken aus der Sammlung und die Themen, die ihre Arbeit prägen: Erinnerung, Entwurzelung und das Erbe der Diaspora. Wie werden Erfahrungen, Emotionen und Traumata weitergegeben? Was geht verloren, was bleibt? Mit der zweiten Ausgabe von (Mit)einander führt das Fotomuseum Winterthur den Dialog zwischen Sammlung und zeitgenössischen Künstler_innen fort. Hua setzt sich dafür mit Werken aus dem Bestand auseinander. Mit Mixed Media und einer surrealen Bildsprache schafft sie Bilder, die Erinnerungen sichtbar machen und dem Vergessen entgegenwirken. Das Gespräch findet auf Englisch statt.

Accompanying the exhibition One Another – Nhu Xuan Hua and the Collection of Fotomuseum Winterthur, French-Vietnamese photographer Nhu Xuan Hua (b. 1989) will be a guest at Fotomuseum Winterthur. During a tour of the exhibition, Hua will speak with Alessandra Nappo, Collection Curator at Fotomuseum Winterthur, about her artistic practice, her dialogue with works from the collection and the themes that shape her work: memory, uprootedness and the legacy of the diaspora. How are experiences, emotions and traumas passed on? What is lost, and what remains? With the second edition of One Another, Fotomuseum Winterthur continues the dialogue between its collection and contemporary artists. For this exhibition, Hua responds to selected works from the museum’s holdings. Working with mixed media and a surreal visual language, she creates images that make memories visible and counteract forgetting. The conversation will be held in English.
