On this 6-day wool and felting workshop in the Netherlands, you will learn how to make felt. You will create seamless products, such as slippers, hats or bags.
The sheep is shaved, the wool washed (and occasionally dyed), then you create the felt.
The course will begin by teaching you all the basic techniques and methods of felting. You will start by treating the wool fibre with soap and water, causing it to shrink and compress, forming a sturdy, strong material. From this point, you can go about using the felt to create your design. Our expert teacher Anneke Copier will lead you through the process, helping you to apply the methods she teaches to any project you wish.
The Green Circle is located in the natural estate of De Zonnebloem in the east of Holland.
Our spaces are all built with nature in mind. The metal forging workshop, for example, stands between two banks and features a grass roof. Our basketry and sculpture workshops are held in a beautiful wooden structure, sheltered with a cotton tarpaulin.
Our new field kitchen features a cozy campfire and is protected by a large roof.
During your stay, you can sleep in a tent, a camper or a log cabin on our premises. Alternatively, there are lots of B&Bs, hostels and hotels nearby.
